some things make a post!


- new couch new couch new couch! we've been sleeping on it for the last few days, first because it was too hot upstairs, and then because of the construction. it is not the most comfortable couch for *sitting* on, unfortunately. but having the sofa bed is so nice right now.

-sofa bed in front of the TV means playing Fields of Mistria in bed. I have been playing so, so much fields of mistria since I got home. very cute, same kind of time sink as stardew valley. goodbye any chance of doing anything else with my free time for the next month.

-spare bedroom has a new ceiling now! the painters will come in tomorrow to finish up the room. it's nice to work with this guy because he uses a whole crew of subcontractors and gets things done quickly and done well. worth the price, ultimately. the bathroom remodel were comparatively cheap and took months and it *sucked*.

-combination of sleeping on the couch and dealing with the workers coming in means I'm up earlier this usual, and it's nice. we'll see if we can keep this up once the "you have to be out of bed because there are people in the house" ends.

-still need to contemplate last week a bit. it was a truly lovely time.

-been drearily rainy all week. went out for dim sum last week with some of mo's artist friends from cinci, which was fun.

-gotta make the time to exercise. maybe I'll just play fields of mistria on the exercise bike.

My brain desperately wants to read that as "Fields of Mistrial".

And it's offering up imagery from some early 2000s cartoon (maybe?) I never watched with a sharp-haired prosecutor or some such. They said ridiculous things. There were many !!!! Could be a game.

(The brain storage, it is ... wibbly wobbly. Questionable contractors may have been involved)

I'm very charmed by the art style, though. And the characters are trope-y, but extremely endearing. I'm planning to romance the sleazy traveling merchant and make him settle down into an honest life. It's gonna be great.

Also - whyfore not the AC in the bedroom?

AC is lovely. We have a roll-y box thing that connects the window (but is not the traditionally heavy unwieldy thing in the window) and it is magic. Do Ohio-people not do AC?

(I am appropriately horrified and concerned at this prospect)

we have a rolly box thing with tube arms, too, but it is *so loud* that I hate it with a passion. and we have central air, which actually works fine everywhere except our bedroom, because the vent is set in the floor behind/underneath my nightstand, and we happened to choose the room with both west and south-facing windows. (we chose...poorly, when we first moved into the house. and now it's been 11 years (which is *absurd*) and we're finally like. hm. don't have to keep living like this, actually.)

once all the construction is done we might move into a different room, or at least rearrange everything a whole bunch. Although right now I'm staring at the space where my closet is and thinking that there ought to be enough space for a lot more closet than I actually have, and I'm contemplating the feasibility of knocking down walls...
