I keep seeing people doing the 21 Days for DW meme, but no one links to the actual meme. >_< So I'm sticking it here for my own reference. And now I have a whole bunch of days to catch up on, so I guess I'll do that, too.

1. Why did you sign up for Dreamwidth?
2. Why did you choose your journal name?
3. Do you crosspost? Why or why not?
4. What do you do online when you're not on DW?
5. How about when you're not on the computer?
6. What do you wish people who read your journal knew about you?
7. What is your favorite community on Dreamwidth?
8. What community do you wish was more active?
9. Are there two people on your reading list that you think should meet?
10. Tell me about your default icon.
11. What features do you think Dreamwidth should have that it doesn't currently?
12. What do you consider the five most "telling" interests from the list on your profile? Why?
13. Do you have any unique interests on your user profile? What are they? How'd they get there?
14. Did you have a gateway fandom? Still in it? Why or why not? Is there a community for it on DW?
15. What's your current obsession? What about it captures your imagination?
16. What are you glad you did but haven't really had a chance to post about?
17. How many people on your reading list do you know IRL?
18. What don't you talk about here, either because it's too personal or because you don't have the energy?
19. Any questions from the audience?
20. Yes, but what are your thoughts on yaoi?
21. What's your favorite thing about Dreamwidth?

I'm a sheep! No, wait. A lot of people that I blogstalked on LJ were talking about it back in 2009, and I really liked what people were saying about it. I'd also been wanting the ability to differentiate between subscription/access on LJ pretty much since I joined back in 2003, so I was very excited by the possibility of more and more useful features. At the time, I still updated my LJ regularly and had a wordpress blog for writing, so I didn't really have any plans for a new journal. But I liked the thought of getting in at the start of something, and I wanted to claim a username before it got taken, so I signed up with Open ID in the count down to the Open Beta, and got myself a free account soon after.

My LJ username is kind of embarrassingly gothtwat-tastic, and I wanted to move away from that, to something slightly less "I am an angry 17 year-old with pretensions of deep and meaningful WANGST." It took me a while to come up with something new, though; I ended up sifting through a bunch of online Latin dictionaries before I found solaciolum. I don't really know why I felt it was so imperative that I use Latin; perhaps because Latin has always been my first and oldest linguistic love. Solaciolum means "a small comfort." (I use the classical pronunciation, with a hard "c" sound: so-la-kee-oh-lum.)

I did once or twice, but fiddling around with privacy settings was annoying, and I always wanted to keep this mostly separate from my LJ. And now my LJ and writing blogs are dead, so I don't really have any place to crosspost to. Except maybe tumblr, which I may do at some point, I suppose.

Everything! I hang out on tumblr a lot, and twitter. I read a lot of fic in various places. I read blogs like Shakesville and Slacktivist. I still spend time on LJ, mostly for fandom/fic related reasons. Recently, I read through the entirety of Homestuck, which was a pretty trippy experience. I'm really far behind on all my webcomics, though. I'll have to catch up on them soon.

Uh. I don't...I don't understand the question. D:

...okay, kidding. I watch tv, although I haven't really been keeping up with any shows in particular the last few months. I crochet and make jewelry. I'm supposed to be studying, but I don't do that as much as I should. I read, although that, too, is something I need to do more of.

omg. You've read all of Homestuck. I feel like I should offer you my congratulations because I certainly can't, even though I'm pretty much in love with some of the characters. The interactive part is just... lol. With my internet connection too, it's sort of a hassle to read.

AND OOH. What sort of things do you crochet? :D

(ps: stealing this meme, hope you don't mind!)
