So, a few weeks ago, I did a terribly stupid thing. I generally keep my cellphone in my pocket because I need it at work and I don't have anywhere else to keep it. After so many months of doing this, I grew accustomed to its weight in my pocket; it was a small phone, and my pockets tend to be spacious. (I like having place to stash things; it annoys me to no end that the pockets on my winter coat are too small to comfortably accommodate my wallet, a bottle of water and a small child.) Anyway, once I started forgetting ky phone wqs in my pocket, the likelihood of me doing something terribly stupid approaches inevitability.

In this case, I did laundry. *sigh* My phone came out squeaky clean, and actually did turn back on briefly, but it started overheating and making unhappy clicking noises, and by the time we got to the Verizon store, it was too far gone to even recover the sim card. Thanks to a bunch of post-christmas sales and my dad being an enabler, I now have a Droid Incredible.

My friends, I am not smart enough for a smartphone. This is probably going to end in tears and tragedy, but in the meantime, I can at least check Twitter from the bus. XD And I can write this entry from the theater where I am about to watch Lyle Lovett perform, sans his Big Band. This is the first concert I've gone to in over a year, I think- am rather excited.
