Mar. 29th, 2026 11:47 pm- Slept late today, got up and made coffee, cleaned up the kitchen a bit, made the pop tart bars.
- Had a bit of a disaster trying to hang the curtain rod; the keyless chuck on the dewalt drill is busted and I can't change bits on it. Took me like an hour to get the screwdriver adapter into it, and then when I went to swap in a drill it was completely jammed. I used the template that came with the brackets to drill pilot holes and they were so, so crooked. The electric screwdriver wasn't charged. I ended up using the blessed hand drill to make pilot holes and did a fair bit of manual screwing, which *sucks*. But! I did eventually get all three brackets up, and more or less secure, and mostly level.
- Also cleaned up the rolly cart under the window and put trays under all the plants. Watered the oxalis. I am fucking determined to take care of the plants. I want thriving greenery. All the big spider plants died in the cold snap and I want hanging baskets full of leaves.
- Did my exercises. Also did some crocheting, but I need to take a break from it or my hands will start seizing up.
- Trying to build better habits. I want to build better habits. Flossing and exercising and drinking water and making things with my hands- I still need to figure out socializing. But this is a start.
Current things:
- drinking: one of the fancy mint lemonade sodas with gin, but also 48oz of water plus a cup of coffee. Maybe I just need to start measuring the water I drink.
- eating: ordered Mexican for dinner. I do not want take out for the rest of the week.
- Reading: started A Desolation Caalled Peace today and I'm loving it. Will probably buy the actual ebooks once I've finished the audio books. The opening quote and the dedication to stanislav petrov kind of indicate where the plot is going to go, and it's a pretty tired scifi trope at this point. But Martine's writing is delicious and her character voices are great, so I'm happy to go on this narrative roller-coaster.
