• Stared that cardigan today, and then the yarn I ordered arrived early. Now I'm gonna have a glut of things to work on. XD.I have four skeins of lace weight yarn of unknown fiber and origin. Two, I think, came from Catherine Friend's farm when she was still raising sheep and dying yarn. One came from Etsy fifteen years ago, and one may have come from my brother. Three shades of purple, and one gorgeous ice blue.


• I'm working with the medium purple, and it's got a lovely soft and subtle variegation to it. It's soft and lofty and slightly fuzzy two-ply, which is a bit of a beast to work with but feels so nice in my hands. My goal is to use up a lot of the yarn I've got, and then I'll get rid of the rest. Possibly I'll try to do a giveaway on tumblr or bluesky for some of it.


• Had a lot of fun doing macrame yesterday; tomorrow I want to hang the kitchen curtain rod and maybe start measuring rope for it, or possibly I'll just make a bunch of other plant holders. I know I've got some hooks floating around in the basement.


• Didn't drink today. Ate an absurd amount of cucumbers, and we walked to get coffee at Roasted this afternoon. Still gonna do my exercises before I go to bed.


• The living room recliner is gone, and Amanda will take the yellow chair and possibly the love seat, which means I get to start shopping for new furniture soon. Excited for that; we need more shelving, and I'd like to move my desk around so the sun isn't in my eyes in the afternoon.

Current things:

• Reading: just finished A Memory Called Empire, and the library has A Desolation Called Peace available, so that's up next.


• Eating: made spicy cucumber salad and ate it over rice for dinner. Still need to use up the cabbage and gai lan in the fridge. Tomorrow I need to bake those pop tart bars for mo and Shannon.


• Feeling: pretty good. a little worried about gus's ear and his general health, and how utterly inconsolable mo will be when he dies. He's fifteen; at most he's got another five years, but realistically he and turtle probably won't make it past another two or three. Maybe that's grim to think about, but at the same time, that's just the reality of older pets.

It's way past my bedtime lol.
